VISION IS THE ABILITY TO SEE POTENTIAL IN WHAT OTHERS OVERLOOK

THE TRUSTEES

The board of trustees are all Directors of Par Track Limited and are legally responsible for managing the track and its staff and facilities to comply with all relevant regulations. Their role has evolved, originally coming together to save the track, then fundraise for the renovation of the site to now ensuring we act in the interests of the community to create a community hub with many opportunities and facilities. We are unpaid volunteers and strategically oversee the management and administration of Par Track and many of us also volunteer with the various activities at the Track.

CHRIS CHAPMAN, RUN DIRECTOR

Originally from Crawley, Sussex, Chris moved from Sheffield to Tywardreath with his wife Becky and young family in 2012. After relocating to Par in 2017, Chris became involved with Par Track as one of the Run Directors for junior parkrun, and has since helped to run the cycling sessions at the track, as well as running touch rugby sessions during the Summer.

Chris’s original sporting love was rugby, but he has since moved on to become a keen runner, cyclist and triathlete – whilst keeping the rugby skills up with touch rugby.

Away from the track, Chris divides his time between his career – a mapping specialist in the environmental sector, renovating the family home – a large Victorian house a stone’s throw from the track, and family time – rugby, swimming, hiking, running, cycling, camping, beach days, canoeing and cooking – also including a family challenge to walk the Cornwall stretch of the South West Coast Path (not in one go!!)

BECKY Hughes, nature & cycling champion

Becky first became involved in Par Track through helping to set up the junior parkrun with a group of local friends. That rapidly expanded into organising junior cycling sessions and getting involved with touch rugby, and then being invited onto the Board.

Becky has been working in the environment sector for over twenty years, working on farm advice, community involvement, conservation management and climate change.

She is also part of the PSA at Tywardreath School and likes to spend any spare time she has left either near, on or in the sea, rowing or swimming.

TAMSYN HOWES, CONSERVATION & FUNDRAISING

Tamsyn has an extensive background in heritage conservation and fundraising and has spent the last 20 years working in the voluntary sector across the South West, most recently with the National Trust.

Tamsyn’s connection to Par Track spans many years from taking part in inter-school athletics meets to more recently as a volunteer helping with successful grant funding applications to Nesta and Tesco.  Tamsyn is one of the founders of our fantastic Par Track junior parkrun which continues to go from strength to strength.

Tamsyn loves to use her skills and experience to give back and support our local community and is passionate about looking after our natural environment and encouraging more people to access and enjoy it.
