On me head son!
Team sports are a crucial part of Par track. Every weekend we host a number of local football clubs who ply their trade in the local leagues. We also host various junior training sessions. Team sport can teach our youngsters a lot and we want to be able to offer better facilities. One of the ways we can do this is to consider an artificial pitch, that can be used throughout the year, taking the pressure off the other pitches and providing much needed capacity for the local sides who struggle when the weather is bad.
Our plan is for a 4G surface that can accommodate football, rugby, hockey and other sports. In addition this could provide vital income to support other areas of the site.
We are well aware that increasing use of the park means more people coming to the track…which means more pressure on parking…so we are looking at ways we can solve that challenge and the two would have to go hand in hand.
This link below takes you to an image of how a 4g pitch could look, but it is by no means a done deal and we have a lot of things to think through before we can take this forwards….size, location etc etc What we do know is that without new uses for our park and ways of generating income, Par Track will not survive…and could become a building plot…so we do have to be prepared for change…but change for good!
